Famous in Turin and Cannes, now in Lisbon too, Nivà is not just any ice cream parlour! In addition to gelataria tradizionale, Nivà is a creamery, too, by the consistency of the ice creams, similar to cold mousse, a process needing Italian expertise and knowledge that only a connoisseur of the matter will be able to make, as is the case of the Rivolta family.
A small place, Italian Renaissance style, with inlaid marbles and a fresco on the ceiling. Currently, Lisbon has two shops, in Alcântara and Príncipe Real.
The offer is varied, as the flavours are. You will find ice cream, vegan ice cream, ice-cream biscuit sandwiches, espresso with whipped cream, hot chocolate and milkshakes! The customers' favourite flavours are stracciatella, strawberry and chocolate, but if you are brave, you will not resist yoghurt, pistachios, Turin hazelnuts flavours, as well as the seasonal ones.
The average price is €6/2 pax. Open every day. It has a takeaway service.
