Located in the Bairro Alto, Tasca do Chico is one of the best places in Lisbon to have a good time to snack, listen and sing the typical "fado vadio" (or amateur). In this rustic Portuguese tavern, opened in 1993 by Francisco Gonçalves himself, the tradition is still alive, with fados sung to the sound of the Portuguese guitar.
Although it is a small space, it has an informal and genuine atmosphere. The decor is familiar with wooden tables and benches, the ceiling lined with scarves, and the walls framed by dozens of photographs and clippings show the fado singers and famous personalities who have been there.
You can also try some traditional Portuguese snacks, such as roasted chorizo, cheeses and green juice, accompanied by wine, sangria or other drink.
