A Licorista e O Bacalhoeiro

Restaurant | €-€€

Considered one of the unique corners of Lisbon, the Licorista was one of the favorite places of Fernando Pessoa to drink a liquor or a ‘ginjinha’. Founded in 1920, a photograph of the writer to drink, recreated in a tile panel, is still visible today in this restaurant. At the moment it is a restaurant where still it is possible to see, engraved in stone behind the balcony, the mark of the Portuguese Company of Liquors and a smiling sun.

Beside the A Licorista, in a joint space, is O Bacalhoeiro, a place that once was dedicated to the sale of codfish, which today is also a restaurant.

The restaurant A Licorista and O Bacalhoeiro serves typical Portuguese dishes, where fresh fish is always present in the menu and the cod occupies a prominent role. ‘Bacalhau à Minhota’ is the true delicacy of this place, but it is not the only one. With an average price of €10 per person, you can try the fried Choco Strips, the Octopus à la Lagareiro, the fried calamares, and a little of everything, varying from day to day.
