This lush secret garden is a hidden Eden that even most Lisbon people aren’t aware of.
Nestled between the Prazeres cemetery and the River Tagus, it contains a network of walkways, a garden, lakes and a picnic area surrounded by exotic tropical plants. When you step inside you will be greeted by friendly ducks and geese, which wander freely throughout the abandoned buildings.
The park was once owned by the Royal Family of Lisbon and they would take long walks and have luxurious picnics there. The garden was forgotten for many years, but was rejuvenated into a beautifully landscaped space. This romantic and elegant park is the ideal place to go for a walk on a sunny day, or stretch out in the shade with a good book.
