Founded by Manuel Brito in 1964 and located in Rua Doutor João Soares, Galeria 111 is the oldest art gallery in Lisbon. It is a guide for Modern and Contemporary Art, promoting exhibitions by a representative variety of Portuguese and foreign artists through an exceptional collection that encourages the sharing of culture with the public. An eclectic space invaded by artistic placidity.
Many artists revealed themselves there and supported their careers in Manuel Brito, who closely watched their creative processes. That is why this gallery has emerged as one of the most important in recent decades, promoting the release of graphic works and collaborating with various institutions.
The gallery's personal collection was guided by artists such as Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Almada Negreiros, Júlio Resende, Mário Eloy, Lourdes Castro, Eduardo Nery, Paula Rego and Bartolomeu Cid, among others.
Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am-7 pm. It has private parking.
