Located in the famous and versatile Bairro Alto, precisely in the Interpress building, Oficina Marques is an art gallery and shop, which belongs to storytellers and promotes art that infiltrates daily life, reminding us of its transforming character. Go in, guide yourself on a journey, and come out with a story.
With a great sense of humour, the hands of Gezo Marque and José Gonçalves form narratives that celebrate life, memories, scars and second chances. They work with “things that once were”, meaning objects that the less attentive and less creative would throw away, as the artists believe they can reach a turning point, a new life. It is this motto which moves and inspires them.
The project comprises two areas that complement each other flawlessly: creation (Workshop) and exhibition (Gallery and Shop). The gallery is experimental and changing, renewed with each project, and the shop is a good cabinet for curiosities.
Open Wednesday to Saturday from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm.
